The Centre for Crop and Environmental Science (CCES) serves as a multidisciplinary nexus, uniting researchers dedicated to understanding the core scientific principles and providing practical solutions for agricultural challenges.
These encompass soil health, water management, crop nutrition, pest and disease control, and their interactions with changing climate and farming systems.
Researchers delve into soil composition, efficient water use, optimized nutrient delivery, integrated pest management, and sustainable farming systems, all within the context of climate change, promoting resilience and environmental responsibility in agriculture.

The Entomology Group are a team of academic staff and researchers studying the biology, ecology, and management of insects and allied invertebrates. 
The Nematology Group is a team of researchers, within the CCES, investigating topics on the biology, distribution, assessment and management of plant parasitic nematodes infecting arable and horticultural crops. 
The Plant Pathology Group is a team of researchers, within the CCES, investigating the epidemiology and control of plant pathogens.
