A new podcast and video series by Farmers Guardian and 91Pro’s is exploring the future of farming.

Hosted by Farmers Guardian chief reporter Rachael Brown, On Air at Groundswell is a collaboration between the magazine and the School which will explore the future of farming with a host of next generation experts.

The series – which consists of six half-hour episodes – was recorded and filmed at this year’s Groundswell, the annual regenerative agricultural festival.

School of Sustainable Food and Farming Business Development Manager Alex Hardie said: "Groundswell is the outstanding event in regenerative agriculture.

“We knew we wanted to capture the thoughts and feelings of the next generation of farmers.

“It was difficult - with the topic being so broad - to hone in on topics that capture everything it means to be a regenerative producer, but our themes were water and waste, soils, greenhouse gas emissions, social sustainability, animal health and biodiversity.”

The podcast also includes vlogs filmed as it was recorded – and hosts a series of up-and-coming experts, including several Harper Adams students and alumni – with guests now forging careers with organisations such as AHDB and Moy Park.

It also includes contributions from winners of the Journey to Net Zero competition, another collaboration between the School and Farmers Guardian.

Alex added: “We were able to secure some of the brightest minds in next generation agriculture, offering some thoughtful perspectives on the way we will be producing food in the near and distant future.

“What resulted is a six-part series of insightful conversation and more than three hours of engaging discussion.

“These vlogs will be interesting to anybody who is looking to make the next step in the way they approach their production - or anybody who is interested in regenerative farming."
